Cells grown on sheep blood agar develop branching mycelia in early phase of growth. These mycelia are eventually divided into cocci to short rods. Also, cells grown on R agar form bulb-tipped mycelia, and germination-like and/or budding-like cells from these bulges are observed. Motile coccoid cells are observed.
