Longitudinal microtome section through a tip of a nodule lobe of Ochetophila trinervis. The central cylinder (stele) is surrounded by Frankia-infected cortex tissue. The infected cells are hypertrophied and the content is dark stained by cotton blue. Some cells are empty, because they lost their content during the preparation process. Light microscopy.
